Once in a lifetime.....

I Have been recently over the last few months been going through a few medical problems so I have had to put my photography on hold for a minute but I am so happy to say that I am now getting back to business and it feels to great! So sorry everyone for being so quiet and not having any new pictures to look at...but im back!
Today started out as just another day and I had to run to good old Wal-Mart. For some odd reason I had a feeling inside me to take my camera in the pouring rain. I mean come on who really takes their camera in the rain? and to Wal-Mart? lol but I just did it. Well on our way back there was a group of people, and keep in mind I live on an Island, well anyway I just had to stop so I begged my friend Micah to stop for me so I could see what was going on because I knew it had to be something good. Well it was much more than just good! It was a once in a lifetime experience, there was a gray whale in the cove.
When gray whales are dying they find a cove to go into so they are safe and they spend their final days just swimming circles and feeding there until they pass. and from what the researches say that was what was happening. I have lived on this Island for 4 years and you can pay all kinds of money to go whale watching but its not always a forsure thing so for me to see something like this happen right next to my house was amazing to me. and to be going on for days you better believe there will be many more pictures to come. its very sad but makes me feels blessed and amazed at life and death and all life and animals and mammals. The ocean is very intimidating to me and this gray whale was so huge and stayed so close to the shore just swimming back and forth rolling over and over at the surface spouting water. I have so many pictures, but it was pouring rain and I spent a few hours out there and took a lot of pictures. There will be more.
I spoke with a lady who worked there on the military base and she said that there had been a pod of killer whales there just days before the gray whale. So it's whale season right now and im going to be spending as much time as I can trying to capture these amazing creatures.
