Brenda & Devin Maternity Shoot...

Brenda & Devin,  May 27th, 2010

I just want to start off by saying thank you guys for letting me capture such a special time in your guys' life. I am honored to have been able to capture a small glimpse of your journey that you have been through for 9 months that is about to bring you joy for a lifetime. I can't wait to take her newborn pictures. & again thanks for being so patient. Taelynn is blessed with such sweet  & loving parents.
This first picture is probably my most favorite, I love capturing the true feelings & natural looks the most. That is when the (client) feels the most comfortable & can just be themselves. Don't get me wrong I also really like to take the posed pictures too! they look great as well, but the reason why i love doing what I do is when you can feel the love & the laughter between the couple or a family & capture it for a lifetime! It's amazing!

So sweet,

I am loving the big wood frame prop, It fits perfectly around the heart shaped hands over the belly.

Dreaming about what their precious baby girl is going to look like & how life is going to be so different. Earlier this yr I went to an estate sale and found an old beat up love seat that I completely refinished. When I hosted Brenda's baby shower she had told me that she was really into purple, & that she wanted the babies room & the whole works to be in that color. So when I finished with the sanding part of the love seat I made it so the cushions were interchangeable & did the cushions in a deep satin purple. Brenda loved it & it turned out fantastic! I Love not just taking pictures, I love being creative & putting all the small details together to make it look great.
Special Delivery
Brenda did such an awesome job, doing all the poses & all of my crazy madness ideas. But in the end they all seemed to turn out pretty beautiful! You guys are a beautiful!
They were such a great couple to shoot! So Relaxed & just excited. Of Course Brenda was uncomfortable, but that was to be expected. she was about to have a baby. So to me She looked amazing & did so awesome for this shoot!
Antique vintage photo.

When we did this shoot Brenda was just planning on going in for a regular induction for June 9th, 2010, So this was just another cute idea. Well little did we know that due to some complications she ended up really having to have a c-section. So in the end mom & baby are perfectly healthy & happy and as beautiful as can be! Stay posted for the newborn session pics to come in the near future.

I love feedback so any type of comments or suggestions are welcome.

Once in a lifetime.....

I Have been recently over the last few months been going through a few medical problems so I have had to put my photography on hold for a minute but I am so happy to say that I am now getting back to business and it feels to great! So sorry everyone for being so quiet and not having any new pictures to look at...but im back!
Today started out as just another day and I had to run to good old Wal-Mart. For some odd reason I had a feeling inside me to take my camera in the pouring rain. I mean come on who really takes their camera in the rain? and to Wal-Mart? lol but I just did it. Well on our way back there was a group of people, and keep in mind I live on an Island, well anyway I just had to stop so I begged my friend Micah to stop for me so I could see what was going on because I knew it had to be something good. Well it was much more than just good! It was a once in a lifetime experience, there was a gray whale in the cove.
When gray whales are dying they find a cove to go into so they are safe and they spend their final days just swimming circles and feeding there until they pass. and from what the researches say that was what was happening. I have lived on this Island for 4 years and you can pay all kinds of money to go whale watching but its not always a forsure thing so for me to see something like this happen right next to my house was amazing to me. and to be going on for days you better believe there will be many more pictures to come. its very sad but makes me feels blessed and amazed at life and death and all life and animals and mammals. The ocean is very intimidating to me and this gray whale was so huge and stayed so close to the shore just swimming back and forth rolling over and over at the surface spouting water. I have so many pictures, but it was pouring rain and I spent a few hours out there and took a lot of pictures. There will be more.
I spoke with a lady who worked there on the military base and she said that there had been a pod of killer whales there just days before the gray whale. So it's whale season right now and im going to be spending as much time as I can trying to capture these amazing creatures.

Random Ideas that come to me.....

Across the street from my house they had closed the road down for some kind of construction. Well every time I looked at the road blocks and cones i just saw what kind of pictures I could take with them. so I had my friend Micah and I go out and play around for a bit while the sun was shining. I had a ton of fun and can't wait for what else I am going to shoot..........

Re enlistment Ceremony and.....

He surprised her with the renewal of their wedding vows. It was such a beautiful day for the ceremony. And Jennifer was so shocked when she found out. It made for some great pictures. When the wedding ceremony was coming to a close we all heard a blowing noise and looked out to the water to see whales spouting water. It was amazing. Thanks Jenn and Mike for letting me capture such a special moment in your lives.

They both got awards that day for their outstanding performance for the military.

Getting ready to sign on again for another 3 years. after that it's retirement!!

We had such a blast that day taking pictures.
